EPL: Lukaku reveals why he is losing muscle

Manchester United striker, Romelu Lukaku, has admitted he has had to lose some muscle after the 2018 World Cup.
Lukaku bulked up to play for Belgium at the tournament last summer and his more muscular physique has hindered him amid the faster pace of the Premier League.
After firing four goals in his first four games this season, Lukaku endured a 12-match drought, before scoring on his last two starts against Southampton and Fulham.
The 25-year-old has shed the weight by keeping away from the gym, drinking more water and sticking to a diet of fish and vegetables.
“A little bit of muscle, yeah. I had to lose it.
“I felt great at the World Cup, but here in the Premier League I cannot play with the same amount of muscle as international football.
“When I came back, I knew straightaway ‘nah, I cannot play in this style like this’.
“So you just stay out of the gym, drink a lot of water, and eat a lot of veg and fish, and it helps.
“Also, I had a hamstring injury, which is something that never happens to me.
“We did a lot of tests to see what the problem was. Just training differently, more prevention in the gym and more speed bursts in training – for me, that’s the most essential.
“After the World Cup, I was a bit tired. You know, I had the same thing in 2014 after the World Cup. When I came back to Everton, I was really in a slump. So, now I think I am at a decent level and ready to go again,” he told SportsMail.

2019: Overriding Buhari on Electoral Act waste of time – Senator Adeola

Senator representing Lagos West, Solomon Adeola has kicked against any attempt to override President Muhammadu Buhari’s veto on the Electoral (Amendment) Bill 2018.
Adeola made this known, on Sunday, in a statement by his Media Adviser, Kayode Odunaro, in Abuja.
He said those making the calls to override the president’s veto did not have the interest of Nigerians at heart as they were not bothered about the success of the 2019 general elections.
The lawmaker said he would not support any move in the Senate to do such, adding that the plan was counterproductive.
According to him, passing the bill into law to take effect from the 2019 elections as observed by the president will not yield the desired result because the country has only a few months to the election.
“As a senator and Nigerian, I cannot be part of any move to override the president’s veto on the Electoral Bill.
“The president clearly stated his reasons for the veto and I think they are cogent enough to be accepted by all in national interest.
“Good enough, the president is not totally foreclosing the need to amend the Act as he clearly stated that such process can take place after the 2019 elections,” he said.
The lawmaker warned that moves to override the president’s veto would only amount to waste of “precious legislative time and overheating the polity in place of other important legislative agenda.”
He added that besides the waste of time, it would be an exercise in futility, stressing that the parliament would not have the required constitutional two third to override the president’s veto.
The lawmaker noted that “at this point, I will stand with all those desirous of peaceful and transparent election as promised by President Muhammadu Buhari.
“With the assurances by INEC that it is ready to conduct a free and fair election with or without the amendment of the electoral law, only those with ulterior motives will want to override the president’s veto less than three months to the general elections.”
President Buhari on December 7 declined to assent to the Electoral (Amendment) Bill 2018 for the fourth time.
Ita Enang, the President’s Senior Special Assistant on National Assembly Matters (Senate), said that the president had communicated his decision to the National Assembly.
In September, the president rejected the bill for the third time due to what Enang described as “some drafting issues” that had remained unaddressed.

House Of Reps Speak On Plans To Override President Buhari

The House of Representatives yesterday spurned reports suggesting that it has commenced moves to override President Muhammodu Buhari on the Electoral Act Amendment bill.
Spokesperson of the House, Hon Abdulrasak Namdas, who spoke with LEADERSHIP last night in a telephone chat, noted that the president acted within his constitutional powers.
He added that the lawmakers would examine the reasons adduced by the president before taking any position.
Namdas explained that the House could not have acted on speculations and media reports when it has a laid down procedure of receiving communications from the president.
He said,
“The House has an established procedure for receiving communication from the president. The Speaker will come before members and read the letter addressed to the House through him by the president. Until that is done, I cannot speak about the position of the House. We will await the president’s letter and listen to his reasons; we cannot act on social media reports.
“So, we are waiting for the Speaker to read the president’s letter on the floor of the House. That is when officially we will deem it that the president has communicated to us”.
Also, a lawmaker from the North East who spoke to our correspondent noted that it would be impossible to override the president’s veto because those who are opposed to his position cannot muster the two-third majority needed.
The lawmaker who did not want his name in print said most of the lawmakers seeking re-election from the zone are banking on the goodwill of President Buhari to win elections, and as such they wouldn’t take decisions contrary to the president’s interest.
“Where will they get the number from? Let us assume that they even attempt to override it, their best will remain an attempt. The reality is that today in the House of Representatives, there is no way those opposed to the president will achieve the two-third majority of 240 members. It is impossible,” he said.
When pointedly asked if Senate President Bukola Saraki can influence two-third majority of the Red Chamber to override the veto, the lawmakers said, “Where will Saraki and his cohorts get the two-thirds majority in the Senate? It is not easy. Just as the anti-Saraki forces couldn’t get the two-third to remove him as Senate president, he is not also likely to get the two-third to veto the bill. And don’t forget that the concurrence of both the Senate and House of Representatives is needed to successfully override the president’s veto,” he stated.

Jubril of Sudan: Why Nnamdi Kanu may be right – Omokri

Reno Omokri, a former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has highlighted reasons President Muhammadu Buhari may be dead and replaced with one Jubril of Sudan.
The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu had continued to insinuate that Buhari was fake.
Buhari, while in Poland recently dismissed Kanu’s claim, describing it as fake.
Kanu, however, released ‘six scientific evidence’ yesterday to prove that the current Nigerian President was not the real Buhari.
Reacting to the saga, Omokri said the recent lamentation by the wife of the President, Aisha Buhari that two persons were frustrating the current government could be an indication that the current Nigeria’s President was fake.
In a tweet, the former presidential aide wondered if Buhari could still praise the Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje after being indicted for corruption.
He wrote: “I doubted this Jubril from Sudan story, but after @aishambuhari said two men control her husband, I started to think.
“Would the old @MBuhari go to Paris to praise crooked Kano @GovUmarGanduje and return to Nigeria to freeze honest Peter Obi’s account? This doesn’t seem like Buhari!”
